EASTER (PT. I)

I had a whole week off over Easter, so shipped out to my mums place with some of my favorite babes! Fun! These are a few shots from around the house, but I'll share some more from our adventures over the next few days.

Other Peoples Houses

Look - Thats my name up there along with a whole heap of super clever people. We're all going to be part of a fair dinkum, dinky die, ridgey didge, actual proper, full legit, IRL exhibition! I bet itll be great, but its in london so I wont be able to make it. Maybe you can though? That'd be swell!

the end of summer

1/ My housemate & the dogs all perched on my bed. A saturday morning (wine & beer bottles remain from a wee party I'd accidentally hosted in my room the night before - I dont usually drink in bed, I swear!).

2/ Bruschetta. Yum. I ate a whole lot of it this summer, always with tomatoes from my garden.

3/ The Peach. Doing what she does best (ie. living a life of luxury & looking cute).

4/ Nu. Sporting The Cone of Shame (skin allergies) whilst practicing her whistful gaze.

5/ Maggie. Crylaughing after posing for this set of photos.

6/ Fruit & Vege. Picked while walking the back laneways of Brunswick & used to make jam / feed folks for my birthday dinner.

7/ Frank. Feeling snoozey.

CHRONIC BITCHFACE

I was recently pulled up for neglecting my cat, Meg, around here. And I must confess, its true- the poor thing suffers from a severe case of chronic bitchface, so is often over-looked in favor of the peach when the camera is out.

Credit where credits due though, right? Meg is about seven thousand years old (15-ish?) and has gallantly endured more than her fair share of puppy insanity over the last few years. As the matriarch of the family, she can scare the hounds out of the best sun-baking spots with just a sideward glance but, secretly, I know she loves it around here. She's even just started sneaking under my doona these last few cold nights... Just dont tell her I told you that, the lady has a reputation to uphold!

Heni

This is Heni, a wee kelpie pup who is staying with me for a bit. Puppies are hard work but also give the best cuddles, so it all works out in the end.

Heni's folks are away for six whole week touring the US of A in one of my favorite bands, Twerps. All you Americans really should go see them if you can. Just tell them Heni sent you!

A sneak peak at my new digs.

Theres still much to be done; in the middle of my floor sit a pile of boxes full of pretty things I have no idea where to put & theres artwork to be hung (or not), a coffee table (& a rug?) to be bought, a broken window to fix & so many things to be donated, stored or sold.

Still, things are slowly coming together and the room is cozy and comfortable already. And so quite at night! Best sleeps ever. Im very happy to finally be able to make use of my couch (which I inherited from my grandfather a few years ago but which has been in storage / other peoples lounge rooms ever since) and to have back a whole heap of things (like, A PALLET worth of things) presumed lost since late 2009 but recently found in the rafters of my mums shed!

A bit of animated hecticity to match a crazy-exhausting-fun few weeks.

I wonder can you guys help- I have finally decided on the colours for a patchwork quilt I want to make, but am having trouble finding the right coloured fabric. Can anyone recommend a fabric store (Online or in Melbourne) with a wide block-colour selection?

The next week will be full of packing & moving & cleaning & painting but our new house is pretty nice & Ill be living the teenage dream by bunking up in the detatched studio out back. FIVE POINT THREE METRES OF FLOOR TO CEILING WINDOWS. My own personal conservatory! Yep.
