Melbourne's first Titan Arum bloomed at the Royal Botanic Gardens on Christmas Day. They are the worlds biggest flowers, smell of rotting flesh, and only open for a few short days before dying. Naturally, I queued for almost an hour for a few short minutes with this sweet prince. Plants are the coolest, forever. Amen.

It's definitely love for me and my new camera & we've been quite busy together lately. Nothing I can share here just yet, but soon I hope...

Also, thanks to everyone for the positive response to my new Print Shop these last few weeks! Ive obtained perhaps an unhealthy level of enjoyment seeing my photographs shipped out all over the world. If it wasn't already blindingly obvious, I find this whole self-promotion caper to be particularly unnatural. Its something I really need to GET OVER at some point, though, and Im working on it slowly. So, uhhhh, thanks for bearing with me through my awkward flailing and for being lovely awesome non-trolly types around here, generally, come to think of it. You guys are alright!

So, I lucked upon a long-term sublease of a plot at the community garden just around the corner from my house.

Ive just planted out my winter crop, so things don't look like much right now, but my plot (photo #3 & #4) is BIG and even has an established Asparagus patch(!!!). So many good plots to make me jealous though! The gardens are now officially my favourite place ever, especially in the late afternoon. Saaahhhhh good!

The first 15 days from a little project I accidentally started over on Instagram Am having a bit of fun trying to see how long I can keep this up for; I am by no means running out of plants to shoot, but am running out of ones small enough to shoot myself / available daylight before I leave for work in the morning. I might have to recruit some help! My name is bawkbawk over there if you want to follow along (join in?)!

& a quick update on Meg to let you all know that while she's still not 100%, she's doing a whole lot better! Thanks everyone for all your best wishes. xx

Yesterday, inspired by the Issue One of The Plant Journal, I finally got around to dividing up the giant Staghorn Fern in our backyard.

Am feeling all doe-eyed & wishing I could lie in my bed forever, staring up at the silvery-green undersides of those leaves. Another reminder I should just DO STUFF instead of wasting oh, exactly 7 months just thinking about it. The usual story.
