new day rising

picnikfile_xyT5ap

This New Years Eve was one of my favorites ever. I was in Daylesford with friends; drinking on a balcony overlooking the bush, lolling around on a blanket under the stars then stumbling to the lake to swim as the sun rose. I think 2012 is going to be a good year!

  5. It's crazy to think of New Year's Eve as being a summer day swimming and lazing about outside, as I've always known it to be a frigid time of year (here in Chicago). I think I like the idea of starting the new year in the summer sun!

  13. OH... how I wish I could swim outside right now. Our pond froze overnight as soon as January arrived. It's pretty at least! Your new year's eve sounds so perfect. We spent it bundled up in wool by the fire pit, stumbling to the neighbors house to shoot fireworks off into the darkness of the reservoir. The stars were so bright! :)
